My First Home!

Wow... 2 posts in one month! I am getting better :) I wanted to share some before pictures of the townhouse I am closing on in a week or 2. I am soooo excited to own my first place and decorating has been on my mind since the first time I saw it back in April!!! So there isn't really much to see. The person who owned it before me has moved out and wasn't very imaginative or colorful so that makes it a very easy place to work with! A clean palette!

This is my makeup area in my bedroom! Very excited about that!

Master Bedroom....my niece is dancing around the big, empty space

Very tall ceiling in the entryway and leading up the stairs.
Small kitchen but I don't spend much time in there ;)

I am collecting art from Etsy to hang going up the stairs.
Where the dining room table will go.

I have always wanted a fireplace!

My little corner of the world....right next to the pool!
There are 1 and a 1/2 baths and a spare bedroom that I am soooo looking forward to turning into my craft room! It will also be where I store all of my vintage treasures for Hollie Would Vintage. It wasn't until I started packing that I realized I have A TON of stuff I need to still put in the shop.
Can't wait to share my whole house makeover!!

Very Inspired

This email came just at the right time! I opened up the daily Etsy Finds email on Sunday and was just sooo happy and inspired! I have finally pretty much confirmed that I will be closing on my ver first place at the end of the month! I have been thinking about decor for months now and Lisa Congdon's House Tour on Apartment Therapy is EXACTLY how I imagined I would be decorating my place. I love her style!! I have been collecting mid-century furniture for months now in anticipation of getting my place. Lisa's place has given me some great ideas to try and I am sooooo excited!

My biggest challenge is picking paint color. My favorite color is blue and I plan on using that different places in the house but I don't want to be overwhelmed with blue. This color green is pretty awesome.

Since I have have my vintage Etsy Store - Hollie Would Vintage - I have lots of great vintage/retro things hanging around and her house gives lots of great displaying ideas.

Eeeekkkk! I can't wait to start moving in and decorating!!!! Any paint color suggestions.... or first time home owner advice???? :)

Embroidery Hoop Mini Album

FINALLY I got my first project done (well, for the most part). This is my Embroidery Hoop mini Album. I love the idea and how it turned out and look forward to making some as gifts! The front of my album. I was pretty happy with the embroidery except for the D's. I decided to make my album about 'The good old days' growing up with my sisters and family.

Inside back of the album is covered with Basic Grey paper.

I only have 3 inside pages done but plan to do more.

Can't wait until I have time to do more projects!!

Dolls and Banners

Two things I wanted to share:
First, I was out garage sale-ing and found these AWESOME dolls.

>I did some research on them and found that not a lot of them were made, but that the Herman Pecker company made a lot of different toys. I put them up in my Etsy shop and sold them within a day or two. I just thought they were so cool looking though. I am not a Blythe Doll fan and don't know much about them, but that is what they kind of reminded me of. Crazy thing though, I was just in a Salvation Army the other day and was in the middle of telling my sister the story of these dolls and what do I wonder upon!? Another one of these dolls!! It is a bit damaged so I have to figure out how to fix it up, but I got it for 69 cents...unbelievable!! It is rare things like that, that make having a vintage Etsy shop so fun.

The other thing I wanted to share was this banner I made for my sister's bridal shower

I always 'favorite' the lovely fabric banners I see on Etsy and think I might like to try to make something like that. Then came the bridal shower and the perfect opportunity to give it a try. I don't really sew so I was hoping I could make it look nice without any sewing. I just cut the fabric into triangles, glued them to a ribbon and found the letters at a party store. I added the glitter to the letters and voila!! Fun banner to decorate with :) I am thinking about making some fabric banners (without the letters) for my new place. Maybe hang them above the bed or going up the stairs....

ETSY FAVORITES

I was thinking about starting this post out saying what a bad blogger I am but I realize I pretty much do that everytime. I obviously don't post very often but am trying to work on that. As I have mentioned before, I am most likely moving sometime in the next few months and if this does indeed happen I can't wait to share how I decorate! Until then... Here are some current favorites on ETSY at the moment.

And don't forget about my ETSY Store - Hollie Would Vintage! I am having a sale right now! CHECK IT OUT!
